I started Calidad Alpacas in 2002 with the purchase
of three foundation females. My professional background is in business
strategy and planning, but it is my lifelong hobby of knitting, specifically
the exploration of luxury yarn and other unique fibers, that brought
me into the world of these amazing animals and inspired me to start a
breeding business. Calidad Alpacas now maintains a relatively small herd
of 30-40 with a foundation of about 15 high-quality breeding females.
